Apple’s Global Business Intelligence team is looking for a passionate and skilled Cloud Data Engineer who enjoys working with massive datasets and modern data platforms. This role is part of Apple’s Enterprise Data Warehouse group, which handles petabytes of data powering critical business decisions across Retail, Sales, Operations, Finance, AppleCare, Marketing, and Internet Services.

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will design, build, and scale modern cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes. You’ll work with cutting-edge big data technologies and collaborate with multiple business and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance analytics solutions. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex data problems and want their work to directly influence business strategy and outcomes.

What you’ll work on:

• Designing and implementing modern cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes
• Building scalable, reliable data pipelines for batch, near real-time, and real-time analytics
• Translating complex business requirements into efficient technical solutions
• Working with large-scale datasets (petabyte-level) using modern big data technologies
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact analytics solutions
• Implementing best practices in data modeling, performance optimization, and data quality
• Influencing enterprise-level data strategy and standards
• Managing partner communication, delivery timelines, and project risks

Key Technical Skills:

Cloud Data Engineering, Snowflake, SingleStore, SQL, Advanced SQL, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, Cassandra, Python, Scala, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes

Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines on cloud or hybrid infrastructure
• Strong experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or SingleStore
• High proficiency in SQL and advanced SQL
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure acceptable)
• Experience working with large-scale data systems and big data technologies
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Scala
• Experience designing dimensional data models for analytics and reporting
• Experience with relational or distributed/MPP database systems
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
